"We feature and do not give out any false coin"

This response, we received from the Quality Manager at Tumba Site, when I was part of the audit team that had the mandate to carry out quality audits on Mint in Eskilstuna. This we interpreted as the only variants has been characterized. Consequently, there is no deviation or ”felpräglingar”.

For that reason, I will here highlight the variations of "The Gold Tenner", 10-kroner coin that I met and saved, embossed under King Carl XVI Gustav reign during the years 1991-2013.

In autumn 1991, when "The Gold Tenner” roll was out, it appeared that one up and down Tenner was released. This gave rise to headlines like "New Tenner topsy-turvy world."

The headlines on this coin, aroused my interest, to discover more interesting variations. It shows that the "twist" is also on the coins minted in 1992. If rotation is available at more year, I do not know. It would allow for interesting speculations.
My interest to check all the 10-korna coins who have come into my hands, has proved very fruitful. There are many interesting and a lot of mystery variants. It turns out that each year, several variations which I'll try to explain.

It has become a major market for variants of the Swedish "Guldtian", the “The Gold Tenner”.
"Oh these exciting coins!" This has brought to that one and the other "abuse" of coins in the hope of creating new needs of the buyers.
Variations, aberrations, “felpräglingar” has over the years have become collector's item in some cases command very high values. It should not be surprised at the price of a rare item. I have seen those requesting six-digit sum for a rarity. The question remains, they may be what they are asking?

Variations shall be included in catalogs and score books. With variations for differences that can be clearly demonstrated how small they may be. How they come, the tamping, “plantsfel” or of a temporary nature, they are of greatest interest. The variations are of great importance and requested more and more. I think it is obvious that variations of different types to be recognized. This is done on a larger scale, the more numismatist to have eyes for the variations.

The variations can be multifaceted wrong metal content, wrong weight, slant, etc., which affect its usefulness in trade and in vending machines. They considered unusable product (coins). The coin unacceptable product, makes them interesting for us to just collect the product (these coins). There are many good reasons to collect them.

Type of variants in the groups that I consider interesting and important. It is important to convey that many of the variants are not detected with the naked eye. Some require magnification using a magnifying glass and sharp light. It helps if you angle the coin so that light falls in from the right side.

In my tests, I deleted only from the "The Gold Tenner", where I found more than 25 significantly different variants. I have chosen to divide the categories in this way, because it is a very important differences between the groups.
